3 Osceola County deputies burned while arresting suspect at Orange County gas station, sheriff says

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Three Osceola County deputies and a suspect were burned during an arrest at a gas station in Orange County, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.

Multiple units from Orange and Osceola counties responded just before 6 p.m. to the Wawa gas station at John Young and Central Florida parkways.

Deputies said they were looking to arrest a suspect after reports of motorcycle riders who were “acting unruly” and pointing guns at people.

The motorcycle riders ran from police as they tried to pull them over, deputies said.

Osceola County deputies said they were told one of the suspects was at the Wawa fueling his motorcycle.

As deputies arrived, they attempted to arrest the motorcycle rider when something happened that sparked a fire that burned three deputies and the suspect, officials said.

Deputies did not reveal what caused the fire but said the investigation into the incident is active and ongoing.
