Some estimates show repair costs could be hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Money they don’t think they should have to pay, because they didn’t cause the problem.

The two subdivisions are Clear Lake Estates and its sister subdivision Clear Lake Landing.

Residents said they have had extended issues dealing with flooding from storms.

The city offered the solution of pumping out the water of Clear Water Lake and using it as irrigation water.

Which sounded fine until the city told residents they would have to foot the bill. The residents weren’t having it.

It would cost Clear Lake Estates residents roughly $200,000 to redesign the community. Clear Lake Landing would need to pay close to $400,000.

And as far as the residents are concerned, the flooding issue didn’t start until the city allowed developers to build new subdivisions around the lake.
