COVID-19 updates: Florida reports 3,200 new coronavirus cases, 49 more deaths

ORLANDO, Fla. — Florida Department of Health officials reported a total of 3,263 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, with 683 of those cases in Central Florida.

Since the pandemic began, there have been 2,275,365 cases of the virus reported in Florida.

The number of negative COVID-19 tests in the state increased by 19,485, bringing the total number of tests to 10,662,483.

The state on Thursday also reported 49 additional COVID-19-related deaths, bringing the state’s death toll of residents and nonresidents to 36,547.

Of the most recent COVID-19-related deaths, 10 were reported in Central Florida, including four in Volusia County, two each in Seminole, Brevard and Polk counties.

Osceola County reported zero deaths.

Several counties reported subtracting deaths from their totals.

Marion County subtracted five deaths while Flager, Sumter, and Orange counties all reported subtracting one death each .
