Suspects still at large in deadly double shooting, Orlando police searching for answers

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando police are asking anyone who saw anything leading up to a fatal double shooting on Sunday to come forward.

The deadly shooting happened on East Colonial Drive near Hampton Avenue just after 2:00 a.m. on Sunday.

Police responded to reports of a crash into a bus stop in front of the Wendy’s on the 2200 block of East Colonial Drive.

Upon arrival, officers located two adults inside the vehicle who were found dead from gunshot wounds.

There is no suspect information available at this time and detectives are asking potential witnesses to call Orlando police if they saw or heard anything between 2:00 and 2:30 a.m. along Colonial Drive between Maguire Boulevard and Hampton Ave.

On Monday, among the crime scene were flowers and balloons for the two victims of this deadly shooting.

One of the balloons had a message of “We’ll Miss You” for the victims, 25-year-old Darien Sulph and 31-year-old Brandon Bevel.

Both victims are from Jacksonville and had gone out in Orlando for some nightlife, police said.

“The closest for nightlife would probably be over on Mills. That’s growing in that area, and Thornton Park but nothing around here,” neighbor Joyce Lien said. “So this isn’t the place you’d expect something like that to happen? Never, never, never.”

Lien didn’t see or hear anything Sunday morning, neither did other neighbors.

The manager of the Wendy’s told Channel 9 that employees didn’t see or hear anything and there wasn’t any surveillance video outside of the crash.

The owner of the strip mall told Channel 9 that the video from his location was handed over to police, but there is no word if the cameras caught anything.

Police say the victims were driving a small black Mercedes SUV.

This is an open investigation, and police will provide more information when it becomes available.
