Early morning fire rips through Apopka home

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Two people and several of their pets were displaced Monday morning after their home caught fire in Apopka, according to officials.

Fire officials initially responded to the home in the 2700 block of Alamosa Court around 2:11 a.m. after reports of loud explosions coming from the garage of the residence.

“The garage was already involved when I called,” said neighbor Kevin Johnson. “That’s what drew our attention to it (and) it was just getting worse from there.”

The homeowner told Channel 9 that they were alerted to the fire due to their dogs barking.
