Flight attendants at Orlando International Airport protest working conditions

ORLANDO, Fla. — Flight attendants for Spirit Airlines said they are not happy with some of the conditions they face on the job.

Several flight attendants grabbed signs this week and protested outside of Orlando International Airport.

Union leaders said recent cancellations left flight attendants working long hours, dealing with disgruntled passengers.

Last week, Spirit canceled more than 30% of its flights, which was the fourth mass cancellation since August.

“We’re here asking Spirit to run a reliable operation that sync with our current staffing efforts and not strand our passengers,” said Cole Devault.

Flight attendants also said they are often stuck at the airport without hotel rooms.

Spirit has promised to improve the working conditions.
