Florida reports 3,500 new COVID-19 cases, 71 virus-related deaths

ORLANDO, Fla. — Florida reported an additional 3,590 COVID-19 cases on Friday.

Of the latest cases, 898 were reported in Central Florida.

The latest cases bring the total in the state since the pandemic began to 2,286,203.

The state also reported 71 virus-related deaths on Friday, including 18 in Central Florida.

Marion County reported the largest increase in deaths, adding five on Friday.

As of Friday, the state’s total virus-related death toll is now 36,719.
