WINTER GARDEN, Fla. — WINTER GARDEN, Fla. – An upscale Orange County community is on high alert after a girl was forced into a car at gunpoint and robbed.

It happened in the middle of the day Saturday in the Summerlake community near Winter Garden.

Investigators said the girl was just getting the mail when someone pulled up next to her pointed a gun at her and told her to get in.

The Summerlake community is made up of large homes with pristine yards, and it’s a place people describe as peaceful and quiet.

“This is an ideal community, it's a great community for small children,” a neighbor said. “It's very family oriented.”

Deputies said the suspect demanded property, drove a short distance and told her to get out.

“They just said it was a red older SUV or minivan, but we never got a description of a person,” said neighbor Kim Mcilvain.

Mcilvain said deputies later showed up at her home hoping to view her Ring doorbell surveillance video to see if it captured the suspect's car.

Unfortunately, the car wasn't captured on her camera. But the situation is eye-opening for people in the area.

“We've never been scared before,” Mcilvain said. “My daughter walks the dog over by that lake and around the soccer field and there's never been an issue before.”

She was told the suspect got away with just $7.

Neighbors are thankful the girl was dropped off and is uninjured, but they are still hoping whoever did this will get caught.

“Someone coming in our neighborhood, causing something like this. It’s not just that family that gets affected, it's the whole community,” said neighbor William Rodriguez.

Some neighbors said they added pepper spray to their dog leash after this.

Investigators have not confirmed it was a red SUV or van, nor the age of the girl.

The Sheriff’s Office said it is continuing to investigate.
