ORLANDO, Fla. — The first time a young man was ever pulled over, he got to pet a horse instead of getting a ticket.
He was pulled over by a trio of Orlando police officers on horseback after they said he failed to make a complete stop at a stop sign.

Body camera footage captured the moment, showing the logistics of how traffic stops are conducted on horseback.
“You can pet his face if you want,” one of the Mounted Patrol Unit officers said to the man, as a fellow officer ran his license and registration.

An officer is heard on the video encouraging the man to eat the takeout fast food he had in his car before the horse could sneak his head through the window for a bite.
At the officer’s suggestion, the man takes a selfie from inside the car with the horse in the background.

The officer’s suggested caption? “When you get stopped by a police horse and you get to pet him instead of getting a ticket.”
