Orange County reopening task force seeks public feedback on reopening plans

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Orange County’s reopening task force said it wants more feedback from people about the next steps to reopening.

The county did an informal survey over the weekend and 90 percent of people they talked to believe the state is opening up too soon.

During a virtual meeting Wednesday the group of experts providing guidance on our reopening and recovery process discussed public opinion on the coronavirus and reopening.

“Ninety-percent of the respondents said they do have a fear we’re coming back too soon,” said Evelyn Cardenas of the Business Compliance & Consumer Confidence Work Group.

That group is tasked with making recommendations on “business compliance and consumer confidence.”

On Wednesday, the task force voted to approve recommending the mayor do a larger survey now that some businesses have reopened.

The group also recommended a town hall meeting with churches and religious leaders to talk about safety during worship services.
