Data shows Wednesday is one of the busiest days for travel at OIA, ahead of Thanksgiving.

All terminal garages have closed at OIA, bringing hundreds of people to the West Park place economy — the only lot that’s open and available.

Travelers are frustrated and don’t know what to do, including Shanice Wilson, a passenger who’s just trying to get home for Thanksgiving.

“We circled all the parking in the airport, then we were sent here which has been insane,” she said. “I don’t know what terminal they’re going to, I don’t know what’s happening.”

Travelers who couldn’t find parking were given a QR code to direct them to the West Park place lot, located 10 minutes away.

Passengers would then have to wait in line for a shuttle bus to bring them back to the airport.

Anthony Souza is a passenger who said he’s never been through something like this before.

“I have not experienced anything like this,” he said. “It’s frustrating.”
