Orlando opens program to help residents find and train for new jobs

ORLANDO, Fla. — The City of Orlando has a new center to help job seekers find employment opportunities.

City leaders cut the ribbon for the grand opening of the Rise Employment and Training Program office on West Colonial Drive.

The new facility will partner with CareerSource to help find and train people for new jobs.

“We have so many jobs available and so many growing industries, in trade and logistics, construction, health care, advance manufacturing, and robotics all kinds of cool jobs right here in Central Florida,” said Pamela Nabors with CareerSource.

Anyone who wants to participate in the program will need to make an appointment.

Participants will also receive a stipend of $125 a week for personal needs like transportation or childcare while in training for up to eight weeks.
