ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — More than 500 students from across the country gathered at Disney on Friday to raise awareness about seat belts.
Students Against Destructive Decisions partnered up with State Farm Insurance as part of the its national conference.
SADD students raced against each other and State Farm agents in the “Quick Click Challenge.”
More than 50% of teens killed in accidents last year were unbuckled.
The national president of SADD said age is no excuse not to buckle up.
“We are just trying to educate everyone that it doesn’t matter how old or young you are, everyone should be buckled up,” said senior Shaina Finkel. “Because seat belts save lives. It is so easy to do and it doesn’t harm anyone.”
SADD also provides resources to thousands of students in middle schools, high schools and colleges across the country.
