Third affordable housing parcel approved in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. — This week, city leaders approved the third and final affordable housing parcel in Creative Village.

The Beacon will have 190 mixed-income, multi-family residential units along West Amelia Street.

Under this agreement:

  • 15%, or 12 units, will be for very income tenants with incomes 30% or less of the area median income.
  • 56%, or 45 units, will be for tenants with incomes 60% or less of the area median income. -22%, or 18 units, will be for those with incomes 80% or less of the area median income.
  • 4% will be at market rate.

As for the remaining units, a spokesperson told Channel 9 that those units are not subject to this agreement but will remain affordable to the area median income.
