Orlando Arnold Palmer Hospital For Children receives donations from local supermarket chains

ORLANDO, Fla. — Southeastern Grocers, Winn-Dixie, and Fresco & Mas Harveys supermarkets announced part of the $225,000 donation to Orlando’s Arnold Palmer Hospital.

A total of nine pediatric care facilities in the Southeast also received the donation.

The donation coincides with the National Cancer Research Month in May.

The funds raised support the facilities’ specialized care and emergency services. All donations were made during the grocer’s two-week community donation program.

It will go toward each facility’s pediatric specialty programs, family-centered support, therapeutic activities, research, child advocacy, and other vital programs.

During the grocer’s two-week community donation program, customers and associates donated $1, $5, or rounded up their grocery bills while shopping. Since the program’s inception began in 2021, they raised more than $1 million for children’s hospitals, according to Southeastern Grocers.

The grocery chain said it had raised over $1 million for its children’s hospital partners and remains committed to supporting deserving hospitals in its communities.

“We recognize the critical importance of supporting the most vulnerable members of our communities – children. We are committed to positively impacting the communities we serve, and we know supporting the health and well-being of our youth is essential for building a brighter future for all, Raymond Rhee, Chief People Officer for Southeastern Grocers, said.
