Orlando CVS pharmacy robbed

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando police are looking for a man who robbed a CVS Pharmacy Monday afternoon.

Orlando police believe the man couldn't pull off a bank robbery, so he decided to hold up the pharmacy instead.

According to police, an armed man entered the store at Michigan and Orange avenues around 1 p.m. and demanded cash.

Investigators said the man showed up at the CVS about five minutes after he was denied cash at a nearby Bank of America.

Police said the man left the store with an unspecified amount of cash. Police don't know if he left the area on foot or by vehicle.

Orlando resident Richard O'Brian and his wife Shirley come to the CVS about once a week. He said the location is always busy with people driving up, walking up, or getting off the bus stop in front of the store.

O'Brian said the robberies bother him.

"It's discomforting. This is our neighborhood," O'Brian said.

Dorris Smith said she had three prescriptions to pick up and had to wait until the store reopened.

Police said the man was able to flee with cash from the CVS. No one was hurt.

Officers said if anyone has information, to call the Orlando Police Department or Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS.
