OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — A 35-year-old Osceola County man will be spending more than 21 years in prison after pleading guilty to posting, and soliciting, child pornography on his Twitter account, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
Matthew Allen Hayes’ residence was raided in April after investigators received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
The organization had received an alert from Twitter about a suspected post involving child pornography, court documents said.
Hayes was convicted of several burglary charges in Manatee County and was on supervised release when deputies served the search warrant in April, officials said.
When interviewed, Hayes told investigators that he had been viewing and downloading child pornography since he was released from prison in October 2015, court records said.
He pleaded guilty to posting an advertisement of child pornography in September and was sentenced Monday.
