Man arrested in connection with off-duty officer-involved shooting

ST. CLOUD, Fla. — A man was arrested in connection with an off-duty officer-involved shooting, according to St. Cloud Police.

Jhon David Escobar, 31, is being charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and shooting a missile into an occupied structure, police said. He is also being charged with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

Detectives say they believe Escobar was asked to leave at the officer’s house on March 1. He returned with a gun and shot at the officer when he came back inside, according to police.

The officer was not hurt. Escobar was treated at a hospital then booked into Osceola County Jail.
