1 hurt after semi hauling sand, car crash on I-4, troopers say

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Troopers are investigating after a semi truck hauling sand and a car crashed, causing the semi truck to spill sand all over the eastbound lanes of Interstate 4.

Troopers said the crash happened around 7:40 a.m. near mile marker 63 in Osceola County.

According to witnesses, a Toyota Corolla and the truck were traveling eastbound when the Corolla drove onto the left shoulder and overcorrected. The Corolla sideswiped the semi truck and the truck overturned.

Sand from the truck was spilled onto the eastbound lanes. Troopers said it took about 90 minutes to clean up the mess.

Troopers said one person was transported with minor injuries.
