VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Many people in the community are finding ways to spread some positivity and help others in need during these uncertain times.
People are putting paper hearts up in their doors and windows to thank those in the community like doctors, nurses, grocery store workers and first responders, who are making a difference.
Red, white and blue paper hearts are plastered all over Sarah Mancuso’s Ormond Beach front door, with each carrying a special message.

It’s part of the city’s Hearts for Heroes program.
In Port Orange, a seamstress has gone from hemming dresses to making face masks for nursing home workers and first responders.
She’s made close to 400 already, and her business is not the only one reinventing itself.

Florida Supply and Cleaning Products would normally service restaurants, but with less of them ordering paper goods and cleaning products, it has opened its doors to the public.
People have been lining up outside the building trying to get toilet paper and cleaning supplies.
“It’s something we can do for our community, and we want to help as much as we can as much as possible,” said Benjamin Sfera.
