DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Daytona Beach police arrested 11 teenagers and two adults after investigators said they entered the Plaza Resort and Spa to record TikTok videos.
The arrests come as the resort’s primary owner faces a deadline to address more than a dozen outstanding code violations at the property on A1A.
The building also has more than 100 individual unit owners. Some of those owners told Channel 9 they have not been allowed inside, making the alleged trespassing particularly frustrating.
Dennis Warren, one of the unit owners, said those paying homeowners association dues want better security at the property.
“Hopefully they’ll be prosecuted,” Warren said. “We do not want anyone in there. This whole TikTok thing is crazy.”
Warren said the property should have security or take other steps to prevent unauthorized access.
Daytona Beach police identified the two adults arrested as Casey Cantrell and Nicholas Keen. Police said they told investigators they learned about the Plaza through TikTok.
All 13 people are facing felony charges, according to police. The teenagers were not identified because of their ages.

Channel 9 asked the city how the group gained access to the property. City officials said securing the site is the contractor’s responsibility. No-trespassing signs and barricades have since been placed around the building.
The Plaza Resort and Spa was declared noncompliant by a special magistrate in August. Code enforcement officials said no repair permits had been pulled for the property in four years.
The resort’s owner is now under a deadline to bring the building into compliance. City records showed one active permit as of Sept. 25.
Channel 9 also asked whether anyone from the city’s building department has inspected the inside of the property. The city said that inspection process has not yet taken place.
