Search underway for man accused of killing wife in front of kids

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Investigators are looking for a man they said killed his estranged wife in front of their children at a park in Orange County Wednesday afternoon.

Deputies named 54-year-old Julian Paris as a suspect in 34-year-old Liza Nicole Adderlini's death. Paris is considered armed and dangerous, authorities said.

WFTV learned Pris and Adderlini had been together for 21 years, but before that, Paris was married to Adderlini’s mother.

Family members said Thursday that everyone gets along and there was no bad blood.

“I assumed it was just regular marriage issues that everybody goes through, I didn’t expect it to go like this,” said Paris’ cousin, Michael Jorge.

Jorge said his entire family has been frantically calling Paris, begging him to turn himself in to authorities.

“I don’t know what possessed him. I don’t know what demon got into him, but he shouldn’t have done it. Plain and simple,” Jorge said. “In front of everybody, in front of the kids. Pull out a gun and seriously shoot?”

According to investigators, Paris opened fire on Adderlini just before 4:30 p.m. in the middle of Dr. P. Phillips Community Park, which sits across from SeaWorld near Interstate 4.

Investigators said one of the children who saw the killing called 911. Horrified bystanders said they also witnessed the shooting, authorities said.

"We came right when they were resuscitating her prior to it being confirmed that she was dead," said witness Dee Samari.

Channel 9's Karla Ray spoke with Adderlini's best friend, who said Paris and Adderlini separated a couple weeks ago because Paris became controlling and was getting physical with his wife. The friend said Adderlini took the children and moved in with her mother.

The woman told Ray none of Adderlini's friend's trust Paris, who they said went by the name of Mike and several aliases.

Investigators said Adderlini and Paris got into a fight hours before the shooting. Paris later went looking for Adderlini when she decided to bring her children to the park.

"Mr. Paris arrived on scene. An altercation ensued. He pulled out a firearm and fired multiple shots," said Jeff Williamson of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Two of the three children witnessed their father shoot and kill their mother, officials said.

“It was kind of sad because they said their daughter was playing in the pool area, and she was left alone in the meantime,” Samari said.

WFTV learned before the fatal run-in, Adderlini met her Paris in a gated community where he was doing lawn work for an irrigation client, to drop off one of their kids.

The two allegedly got into a pushing match and Adderlini called deputies after she said Paris twisted her arm and tried to hurt her.

He apparently ran away before deputies arrived.

WFTV found out Adderlini and Paris had a fourth child, who died in 2012 after he was hit and killed by a car on Old Winter Garden Road.

Detectives blocked off the parking lot and put down markers where shell casings landed.

Paris does not have a criminal history in Orange County. He was last seen wearing a red shirt and black hat. Authorities said Paris' arms are covered in tattoos, which may help in the search for him.

Investigators said Paris fled the scene in a white Kia Spectra hatchback with Florida license plate K259IV.

Friends of Adderlini said Paris is very good at hiding and may have been on the run for other crimes out of New York.

Anyone with any information is asked to call 911.
