Police investigate woman's suspicious death in Daytona Beach home

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — A Volusia County woman was found dead in her Daytona Beach home and police are calling the circumstances suspicious.

Police were called to the Royal Palm Court Condominiums on 9th Street and Derbyshire Road Saturday afternoon in regards to a 911 call about a death.

They found Dana Hales dead inside one of the units.

According to reports, her husband, Christopher Swanger, walked out of the home when police arrived and said, “You got me.”

Swanger was taken to Halifax Hospital because he nearly overdosed on pills.

He told police he and his wife had gotten into an argument over his drug use.

Police have not said how the unidentified woman died.
