Investigators say 19-year-old Jerome Lafortune and 20-year-old Destiny Cardozo met Peay and his long-term girlfriend at the restaurant to settle a family dispute.

The meeting ended in an argument, at which point investigators say Lafortunte and Cardozo started to leave the area in a vehicle.

According to police, Peay was struck by a bullet fired from the vehicle as it left the parking lot.

Both Lafortune and Cardozo are now wanted by the Sanford Police Department for first-degree attempted murder.

Police believe they could still be driving the same vehicle, described as a blue Dodge Magnum with a Florida tag of Y92-QFA.

Both suspects have been declared armed and dangerous by the police.
