A Brevard County man is accused of coercing a 12-year-old into having sex and using social media to pressure the girl into giving in to his demands.
Ethan O’Hara, 21, is being held without bond on three counts of sexual battery involving a 12-year-old.
Police are also investigating another potential case involving a 15-year-old.
Indian Harbour Beach police said O’Hara met the 12-year-old shortly after Hurricane Irma and the next week, he asked her to have sex but she refused.
Police said the girl then received a Snapchat photo from O’Hara showing him holding a rifle.
The victim told investigators the suspect told her something bad was going to happen to her and her family if she did not have sex with him.
The victim said she met O’Hara at an area pool.
Police said the investigation began after the suspect told someone that he was having sex with the underage victim, and that person told the victim’s mother, who called police.
Police said they are still investigating O’Hara for possible involvement with a different girl.
They are looking for anyone who might have more information on the cases or on any other cases involving O’Hara.
