Polk County man charged with murder after ‘suspicious disappearance’ of elderly man, deputies say

AUBURNDALE, Fla. — Polk County deputies said they arrested a man after a reported disappearance of an elderly man.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd plans to hold a news conference at 1 p.m. to give further details.

Deputies said Auburndale resident David Jesse Williams, 30, is facing charges of first-degree murder, tampering with evidence and grand theft auto.

The charges come after what deputies are calling a “suspicious disappearance” of an 81-year-old Auburndale man.

Deputies said Williams is currently in custody in Georgia.
