Polls open Tuesday for special primary election in Florida

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Polls are opening Tuesday in parts of Central Florida for a special primary election.

Mike Waltz left his seat in District 6 to become the National Security Adviser for the Trump administration.

District 6 includes parts of Volusia, Flagler, Lake, and Marion counties.

The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The General Election will be held on April 1.

There is also another primary election Tuesday near Pensacola. It’s to replace former Rep. Matt Gaetz.

Gaetz resigned when he was tapped to become President Donald Trump’s Attorney General.

However, he later removed himself from consideration before a report by the House ethics committee was released, showing allegations that he paid for sex and drugs.

Gaetz has denied those allegations.
