A loss prevention officer is accused of peeping at young female shoppers.
And Channel 9 learned how the security strategies he used to watch out for thieves helped put him behind bars.
“(It) could’ve been my daughters, wow,” said shopper Patricia Grogan.
Investigators said that loss prevention officer was caught on camera going into the women's bathroom at an Osceola County Ross store and coming out with a photo on his phone.
Whena 13-year-old victim saw him, she didn't hesitate to alert her mother, investigators said.
Antonio Aletriz-Torres, 28, admitted to investigators that he took the photo of the girl for his own entertainment at Ross on Vine Street in Kissimmee.
And investigators said he didn't do a very good job of hiding what he was up to.
He didn't try to hide the phone inside a ceiling tile or other methods. Instead, he held it over the stall door and took a photo.
As a loss prevention officer at Kissimmee Ross, Aletriz-Torres knew exactly where the surveillance cameras were.
But he was still caught on tape Monday going into the women's bathroom.
“The surveillance video shows this loss prevention officer going into the female restroom and coming out a few minutes later looking at an image on his phone,” said Stacie Miller, with the Kissimmee Police Department.
Investigators said that image was of a 13-year-old girl using the restroom.
The victim told police she not only saw the phone, but the man didn't even silence the shutter and she heard the photo be taken.
“Oh, my gosh,. I have two daughters, and I can't stand that. That's bad,” shopper Grogan said.
When Channel 9’s Karla Ray stopped by Aletriz-Torres' home, his mother came to his defense.
"He hasn't been arrested; nothing has been proven yet,” she said.
Now shoppers are thinking twice about those watching the store.
“I've been coming to this Ross since I was, like,6 years old, practically my whole life, so that just makes me worried,” said Chanel McCoy.
Aletriz-Torres also admitted to taking similar photos of dozens of women and girls over the last several months. Investigators are working on tracking down those other victims.
