Search continues for Disney intern's killer nearly 5 years later

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — It's been nearly five years since an Australian intern who worked at Disney was killed by a hit-and-run driver.

Mahmoud Arabi, 22, was crossing International Drive near Vineland Road March 18, 2013, when he was struck.

The Orange-Osceola County State Attorney’s Office announced a warrant for the arrest of Jose Ruiz Nov. 18, 2015, but he’s never been captured. Investigators believe he’s left Central Florida.

The American Muslim Leadership Council has offered a $5,000 reward for the arrest of Ruiz.

“Every day of my waking hour, it goes back into my head and I will not stop,” Nehed Arabi, Mahmoud Arabi’s mother, said via FaceTime.
