Blood drive held for Seminole County firefighter injured in motorcycle crash

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — A tragic accident has rallied the community together to help a family in need.

Seminole County firefighter Connor Fernandez was involved in a horrific motorcycle crash, and now his fellow firefighters are doing what they can to help him and his family.

Fernandez was in a serious life-threatening motorcycle accident with another vehicle while off duty last week.

The 25-year-old is slowly recovering from brain trauma.

Fernandez has received 82 units of blood, which is around 10 gallons. The average adult body holds about 10 units.

Fernandez has served as a firefighter for Seminole County since 2020.

In addition to Thursday’s blood drive, a GoFundMe page has also been set up to help Fernandez’s family.
