I-4 rest area in Seminole County set to close temporarily for maintenance

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Department of Transportation is set to temporarily close a rest area on Interstate 4 in Seminole County.

The westbound I-4 rest area before State Road 434 will be temporarily closed for maintenance and paving starting Sunday morning.

The entrance and exit ramps for the westbound I-4 rest area will be closed.

The closure is set to begin 10 a.m. Sunday and the rest area is scheduled to reopen Tuesday night.

FDOT said no vehicles will be permitted in the parking areas or on the ramps in order to complete the work.

According to a news release, any vehicles that are left unattended or abandoned will be towed beginning Sunday at 9:30 a.m. at the owner’s expense.

FDOT said schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
