In addition to packing meals, the sorority was presented with the Hunger Hero Pioneer Award, recognizing its work with the organization over the past two years.

Alpha Kappa Alpha was a major contributor to the launch of U.S. Hunger’s Virtual Food Drive program at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The sorority continued the momentum for two years, feeding thousands of families across the country.

During the conference, Soles 4 Soles collected gently worn shoes to be donated around the world, and the Lions Club International collected pairs of gently used eyeglasses.
