UPDATE: SpaceX scrubs Starlink satellite launch due to weather

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — UPDATE: SpaceX is standing down from Friday’s Starlink satellite launch due to weather.

Officials said they now plan to launch the Falcon 9 rocket on Saturday morning at 7:19 a.m.

The forecast will improve to 80% favorable conditions.

Less than two days after successfully launching a crewed mission to the International Space Station, SpaceX is set to blast off again early Friday morning.

They’re scheduled to send a batch of 53 more Starlink satellites into orbit from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

The launch window opens at 7:40 a.m. A backup window, if needed, is available at 7:19 a.m. Saturday.

Friday’s launch will be the thirty-first of the Starlink program.

The goal of Starlink is to create a network that can help provide reliable internet service across the globe.

The Falcon 9 booster for the launch is the same one they’ve used in four previous Starlink missions.

Following first stage separation, the booster will land back on the “Just Read the Instructions” droneship, which will be stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.
