SpaceX’s future hinges on Starship and Starlink as the company faces profitability questions

Elon Musk says SpaceX has billions in investments and big plans ahead.

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — SpaceX continues to push forward with ambitious plans for the future, even as the company has yet to turn a profit following billions of dollars in investments from Wall Street.

The aerospace company, which operates major launch facilities on Florida’s Space Coast, said it did not report earnings after going public on the Nasdaq in June.

Despite that, company leaders say they are focused on expanding operations and preparing for the next generation of spaceflight.

Founder Elon Musk says SpaceX is working to build Starship components faster to support more flights from the Space Coast.

The massive spacecraft is designed to eventually carry people and cargo farther into space, including potential missions to the Moon and Mars.

Experts say the company has significant challenges ahead as it works to develop, test, and scale the Starship program.

Beyond rockets, executives say one of SpaceX’s biggest opportunities for growth is its Starlink satellite internet network.

The company currently has about 10,200 Starlink satellites in orbit around Earth.

While profitability remains a key question for investors, SpaceX leaders say the company’s long-term strategy is centered on increasing launch capabilities, expanding Starlink, and building the technology needed for future space missions.
