ST. CLOUD, Fla. — The boy who survived an alligator bite in St. Cloud appeared on the 'Steve Harvey' show Tuesday.
Last month, a 9-foot gator bit 9-year-old James Barney while he was swimming in Lake Toho.
Barney said he jumped in the lake to cool off after a bike ride.
He had several wounds all over his body.
Barney told Harvey the alligator left him something after it bit him.
"When I got to the hospital, they announced it that it was an alligator tooth, and I'm like, 'What? Impossible. It couldn't be.' And then, they pulled it out and showed me," Barney said.
Trappers still haven't caught the gator.
As a gift for his bravery, Harvey gave Barney an alligator wallet and a matching belt. Harvey called Barney a hero as the little boy gave him a big hug.
