ORLANDO, Fla. — State health officials have linked another 215 deaths to coronavirus.
It’s the second straight day their data has shown at least two hundred deaths from illness related to COVID-19.
Florida’s death toll now stands at 12,482.
Thursday’s data from the Florida Department of Health also revealed 2,583 new cases of the virus.
That’s up slightly from the 2,056 new cases reported Wednesday.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 654,731 cases of coronavirus recorded in Florida.
Of the 215 latest deaths, 40 involved Central Florida residents, including eight in Brevard County, seven in Orange County, five each in Seminole, Lake and Marion counties, four in Volusia County and three each in Polk and Sumter counties.
To date, the number of negative tests recorded by state health officials totals 4,195,528, an increase of 16,428 since Wednesday.
