ORLANDO, Fla. — Central Florida is entering a wetter weather pattern that could bring showers and storms through the weekend and into next week.
Scattered showers that developed Wednesday will diminish during the evening, although some rain could continue overnight in Brevard County. Temperatures will fall into the mid-70s.
Channel 9 meteorologist David Heckard said deeper moisture will arrive Thursday, increasing the chance of rain and storms. The greatest chance for activity will come during the afternoon, with highs reaching the upper 80s.
Elevated rain chances will continue Friday, with scattered afternoon showers and storms expected.
The weekend also looks unsettled. Rain and storms are likely Saturday and Sunday, particularly during the afternoon and evening. High temperatures will remain in the upper 80s.
More active weather is possible early next week as a cold front slowly moves into the region. Scattered rain and storms are expected Monday and Tuesday, with the wetter pattern potentially continuing through much of the week.
