Police: Subway employee lures customer on date in scheme to rob, kidnap man

ORLANDO, Fla. — Four people were arrested after a man who thought he was on a date was robbed and kidnapped.

Orlando police said a woman set up a date with a regular customer from her job at Subway. But the man was being set up to be kidnapped and robbed at gunpoint, police said.

Investigators said Ariana Poindexter, 18, lured the man to Eagle Nest Park.

The victim and Poindexter were sitting in his car talking when two men armed with guns came up to his car and told him to get in their vehicle, where a fourth suspect waited, police said.

Poindexter then pulled out a knife and pointed it at the victim, police said.

The four culprits told the victim they were "going to have him withdraw money from an ATM."

On the way to the ATM, the victim realized he left his wallet in his car so they drove him back to get it. The culprits grabbed the victim’s wallet, kicked him out of the car and drove off.

The victim followed them and dialed 911.

Victim: “I just got robbed.”

Dispatcher: "Did they hurt you?"

Victim: "No. They had a gun and a knife. I see them right now. I'm right with them, right now."

The dispatcher told the victim to back off for his safety when police started to follow the four.

Poindexter, Barak Brown, Michael Johnson and Kevaun Johnson were arrested and booked in to the Orange County Jail.
