SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. — A Sumter County family was displaced after their home was damaged in an electrical fire Thursday morning, firefighters said.
The fire broke out at about 8:15 a.m. at a home on Jackson Street in Wildwood.
When Sumter County firefighters arrived, there was heavy smoke coming out of the front door and windows.
The family was able to escape, and one person was taken to the hospital for an emergency not related to the fire, firefighters said.
Crews were able to put out the flames in 10 minutes.
The two adults and three children living in the home are getting help from the Red Cross.
