Surveillance shows masked robbers in Volusia County bank robbery

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — New video shows three men attempting to rob a Volusia County bank. Police said it happened shortly before they crashed on Interstate 4 and were taken into police custody.

The three suspects, Donald Christopher, Stacy Taylor and Winsor Lyles, first broke into a DeBary home to get money, police said. There, they tied up the homeowner and stole his car, which they drove to the TD Bank, police said.

Surveillance video from the bank shows three men decked out in masks, gloves and long sleeve shirts as they attempted to rob it.

Christopher, who is a transient, can be seen hopping over the bank counter, stealing money and a GPS device, authorities said.

As the men left, one got spooked by someone outside, and the video shows him crawling on the floor. Another robber went into the back of the building and shot out a window while the third made a run for the front door, police said.

All of the men got back into a stolen vehicle and fled, police said. Eventually, they switched cars but were arrested after crashing in a wooded area along I-4, they said.
