PALM COAST, Fla. — An incredible mistake has many asking how someone’s dream house got built on the wrong lot in Palm Coast.
The error that happened in the Ocean Hammock Community could be tracked to a survey done last year.
The $680,000 mansion is supposed to be on lot 11 and all the surveys show it on lot 12.
County officials said the builder of the three-story, six-bedroom 5,000-square-foot house is working on a settlement and the Missouri couple who bought the home is working on a settlement.
“They’ll have to negotiate with the owners of the lot and come up with a solution,” said Flagler County’s Chief Building Official, Mark Boice.
Until that happens, the Florida fortress is technically on land owned by a North Carolina couple.
