Teachers to wand students at Osceola County school

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Students at a high school near Kissimmee will notice an increase in security measures Wednesday morning when they arrive to school.

The move comes after a threat was found in a bathroom at the Zenith Accelerated Learning Academy.

Teachers were instructed to arrive to school early to use metal detectors on all students as they enter the school.

An Osceola School District spokeswoman said parents received a robocall and a letter notifying them about the threat, which is being investigated by law enforcement.

There will also be an increased number of deputies on campus Wednesday.

Officials didn't elaborate on the threat.

No other details were given.
