VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Volusia County investigators said they are searching for one of two men who broke into a home with three children inside.
Deputies said 20-year-old Alan Hallett and another suspect, who is still on the run, broke into a home on Schuab Avenue in Orange City on Tuesday.
The pair made their way in through a bedroom window, officials said.
A 17-year-old girl who was in the home called 911, while the men were trying to get into the master bedroom where she and her brothers were hiding.
Caller: "They're in. Oh my God!"
Dispatch: "Are your brothers with you?"
Caller: "Yes."
Dispatch: "OK, listen, you need to stay strong for them, OK? We don't want them to be upset, OK?"
Hallett was caught shortly after the incident.
Investigators said the other man, who was wearing a dark T-shirt and shorts, ran away into some nearby woods.
