OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — An Orlando teenager was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Osceola County Saturday night, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Joyvan Ventura Villafane, 17, was walking east on the paved shoulder of Orange Blossom Trail near Hope Street when he was hit and killed by a vehicle traveling east around 9:30 p.m.
Trooper said the car, which may be a dark-colored SUV or sedan with front-end damage, left the road for an unknown reason and traveled onto the shoulder before hitting Villafane.
The crash is still under investigation and charges are pending, troopers said.
