ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Two men were charged Thursday in a purse-snatching incident at an Orange County PetSmart, just days after their arrest by the Orlando Police Department on unrelated charges, authorities said.
Kevin Henderson Sr., 50, and Kevin Henderson Jr., 19, were charged with robbery and battery.
Detectives are also investigating whether the two are responsible for a similar incident at the Walmart Neighborhood Market on Dec. 31.
The men are accused of stealing lawn equipment from a flatbed truck in the Conway area. The car they used resembled the vehicle recently used in two purse snatchings, police said.
One of the purse snatchings happened Sunday outside a Walgreens on Michigan Avenue.
Surveillance video at a PetSmart on East Colonial Drive shows the crime in progress.
The video shows a figure getting out of a gold, late-model Pontiac, wrestling the purse away from an unsuspecting shopper and taking off.
A witness recognized the car immediately when she saw the PetSmart video on the news.
Investigators from both Orange County and Orlando police said they believe the car was used in another incident on New Year’s Eve when someone snatched a purse from a woman's car outside the Neighborhood Market Walmart on North Semoran Boulevard.
