Troopers seek hit-and-run driver after bicyclist killed in Orange County crash

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Troopers say a car driver struck a man along Dean Road late Sunday and then left the crash scene.

Investigators said an Orlando man, 37, was riding or walking his bike near Dean Haven Court just after 11 p.m. when a dark-colored sedan hit him.

That driver then took off, Florida Highway Patrol said.

First responders rushed the bicyclist to AdventHealth East Orlando hospital but he did not survive.

Troopers later tracked down a car they think was involved in the collision, noting it had damage consistent with the deadly crash.

FHP told Channel 9 that the owner of the home where troopers found that car was not cooperating with them.

Investigators added that the alleged driver of that car was also uncooperative.

Troopers have not made an arrest in the case and have asked that anyone who witnessed the crash or has tips to contact Florida Highway Patrol.
