ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Two men were killed and a third was injured in a shooting early Sunday morning in east Orange County, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Deputies and emergency crews responded to Marietta Street off Goldenrod Road around 2 a.m. Residents in the area said they called 911 after hearing several gunshots.
"I can't tell you how many (gunshots). I know it was a lot of them," a homeowner said.
Three shooting victims were found and taken to local hospitals, where two of them died, investigators said.
According to the Sheriff's Office, the shooting stemmed from a drug deal and one of the deceased men is the suspect. He hasn't been identified.
The surviving victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Deputies said that victim, identified as 53-year-old Ronnie Moore, is being uncooperative.
Residents told Channel 9 that violent crime like this is uncommon in their neighborhood.
"Hopefully it's done and over. Like I said, this never happened here before," a resident said.
Deputies said the deceased victim was identified as 37-year-old Ronald Moore.
It's believed that more people were involved in the incident. Any witnesses are asked to contact the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
