Driver killed in head-on collision, troopers say

VOLSUIA COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is looking for witnesses to a deadly crash in Volusia County.

Troopers said the crash happened Saturday morning on Kepler Road near the intersection of Periwinkle Avenue.

According to troopers, around 7:20 a.m. a driver traveling north on Kepler Road crossed the centerline and hit an on-coming car head-on.

The driver of the oncoming car, a 47-year-old DeLand woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and passenger of the car troopers said caused the crash, both 26 years old, were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
