DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — A man wanted in connection to a Daytona Beach fatal shooting was arrested Thanksgiving night following a police chase in Seminole County, deputies said.
The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office released helicopter video of a chase and the arrest of Jermaine Jackson, 36.
The video shows Jackson driving at high speeds until he eventually stops and jumps into a body of water. He was taken into custody shortly after.
Jackson is accused of fatally shooting Warrick Williams, 43, who died at a business on Mary McLeod Bethune Boulevard near Garden Street.
Investigators said Jackson kicked down a door and opened fire at people who were playing a card game.
Police said Jackson shot Williams several times before running away.
Wednesday’s shooting was the eighth in Daytona Beach since Saturday. In total, three people have died in the shootings, which do not appear to be related.
