DELTONA, Fla. — A 50-year-old man died after a kayaking accident on Big Lake in Deltona on Sunday, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission.
Investigators said Stanley Brown, of Orlando, was fishing on Big Lake with his brother —each in their own kayaks — on Sunday afternoon. His brother said the two separated to fish alone for 30-45 minutes, but when he returned to the area where Brown was fishing, he found Brown’s kayak partially submerged in some water lilies with his brother nowhere in sight.

FWC officials said the brother went to a nearby home and asked the homeowner to call 911 around 1:30 p.m.
